Wellness Exams

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. We believe that the time and effort invested in wellness programs has rewards for both pets and their owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: a comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, spay or neuter package, and specialized blood tests for all life stages. Surgery

Laketown Animal Hospital offers the most advanced surgical technology and techniques available to us. To ensure the safest, most efficient surgical procedures, our surgical services consist of: a board certified surgeon available for consultation, fully trained veterinary and technical staff, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet, heated surgery tables for greater comfort and temperature control, advanced sterilization techniques, electrocardiograms (ECG), oxygen saturation monitors, blood testing, and intensive after surgery care and monitoring.

 

We offer a varierty of surgical procedures including: spay, neuter, declaw, and lumpectomy. Specialty procedures such as orthopedic surgery, enucleation, soft palate resection, perineal urethrostomy, mass removal, hernia repair, exploratory, and many more are available upon consultation.

 

Vaccinations

We also offer a variety of important and necessary vaccinations for both canines and felines. From the required rabies vaccine for all canines and felines to the feline leukemia vaccine, we have everything your pet needs to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Diagnostic Testing

We use a variety of diagnostic tools such as x-ray, ultrasound, allergy screening, chemistry panel, complete blood count (CBC) profile, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and/or culture and sensitivity among many other available options depending upon your pet's symptoms and physical examination.

 

 

Hospice and Euthanasia

 

We understand that saying goodbye to a long time friend and companion is sad and painful. Therefore, our compassionate staff is extremely sensitive and empathetic in assisting our clients and ensuring their pet's comfort during this difficult time. 

We offer cremation services through Butler Funeral Home and allow our client's to choose from a group cremation (in which your pet's ashes are not available for return) or you may choose to opt for private cremation services (in which your beloved pet's ashes will be returned to you). Microchipping

We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. While we encourage your pet be microchipped at the time of spay or neuter, this procedure can be done at any time and does not require traditional anesthesia. The microchip is implanted between your pet's shoulder blades just underneath the skin. It is implanted by using a needle very similar to vaccine administration. We scan each chip immediately to ensure the microchip has been properly placed and reads accurately. We also issue you a certificate which includes your pet's information, ownership information, and your pet's unique microchip identification number.



Grooming

Treat your pooch to a luxurious bath. Our special cleansing process uses Hydrosurge Technology to remove dirt, debris, and pet odor. Your dog will leave feeling fresh and clean after spending the day at our doggie spa. If irritated skin is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents to help relieve itching. Our grooming packages include a bath, full coat brushing, nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, and a blow dry. We also have a professional groomer on staff who provides hair cuts. Dental Care

Regular professional dental cleanings are important in order to maintain your pet's oral health. During your pet's dental procedure, we use modern and safe ultrasound techology to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Our dental technicians then polish your pet's teeth to create a smooth and lustrous tooth surface, making their teeth more resistant to unhealthy plaque buildup. Next, a fluoride treatment is applied to help strengthen each tooth's enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. We also offer advanced dental care services including extractions and slab fracture repairs.



Radiology

Laketown Animal Hospital provides our veterinarians with digital radiography equipment allowing them to evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems more thoroughly in order to diagnose more accurately. This specialized area of veterinary radiology is a segment of veterinary medicine that is highly technical in nature and helps us provide your pet with the very best care possible. With this tool at our doctor’s disposal, a variety of diagnoses can be made in order to possibly save the valued and cherished lives of our client’s pets.



Boarding

Pets are like our children -we feed, nurture, and lavish them with attention. Our kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care and individual outdoor time in order to keep them happy and active. We also provide a regular diet of Purina foods for our canine companions and Purina Cat Chow and/or Fancy Feast (moist) for our feline friends. All we ask is that you please prepackage their food into individual bags per feeding. We do provide bedding for our boarding guest and ask that you leave your pet's bedding at home. However, if you wish for your pet to have an item with them from home, you are able to bring a toy for them (toy restrictions do apply).
