We have recently had several calls asking for information about the Canine Influenza Virus, or CIV. There have been several reported cases up north in the Chicago area. Canine Influenza Virus is an airborne upper respiratory virus that can cause coughing, inappetence, fever, and discharge from the eyes or nose. Dog parks, grooming facilities, and boarding kennels are high exposure areas. If your dog is showing any of these symptoms contact your local veterinarian immediately. For more information follow click here or give us a call at 529-4211.
