Peanut Butter Products Now Contain Xylitol

There are several peanut butter brands that now contain Xylitol - a low calorie sweetener that is toxic to dogs. Brands including Nuts n' More, Krush Nutrition, and P-28 Brand all contain Xylitol. There are many pet owners that use peanut butter as a treat or to administer medication. If you use peanut butter for your pet make sure you are checking the label to ensure the product does not contain Xylitol.

Symptoms of Xylitol poisoning include low blood sugar, seizures, liver failure, and even death. If you believe your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms or your pet ingested a product containing Xylitol contact your veterinarian immediately.
